Queensland’s container scheme hits 10 million

November 13, 2018

Queensland’s Containers for Change program has churned through 10 million containers since its launch at the start of the month, according to data released by the Queensland Government.

State Minister for the Environment, Leeane Enoch, said that the 10 million containers put through the scheme showed how Queenslanders are embracing a new push for recycling in the state.

“Containers for Change started less than a fortnight ago, and we are seeing some amazing recycling results,” Ms Enoch said.

“With more than 10 million containers being recycled, this means more than $1 million has gone back to Queenslanders and charities.”
