SA Planning and Design Code discussion paper released
The South Australian State Planning Commission is progressing with the development of the State's new Planning and Design Code, following a series of workshops held throughout May.
A technical discussion paper on how the Planning and Design Code will operate in practice is now out for consultation. It describes what the first generation of the Code will look like in 2020, such as how it will be structured, maintained and delivered, and how South Australia’s new online ePlanning solution will transform the way development applications are lodged, assessed and tracked.
Feedback is required by 22 July.
The Code, to be completed by 30 June 2020, will consolidate 72 planning rulebooks across South Australia into a single ‘one-stop-shop’ of planning rules and guidelines.
The Code will enable:
the consistent, high quality design of large developments
improvements to public streets, squares and spaces
innovative approaches to development creating flexible spaces and places.
