Advisory panel appointed to guide Cities Power Partnership


The Cities Power Partnership has appointed an expert advisory panel to provide guidance in setting future directions for the Partnership.

The advisory group, which will meet annually, comprises ALGA Vice-President and Alice Springs Mayor Damien Ryan; CEO for Farmers for Climate Action, Verity Morgan-Schmidt; Climate Councillor, Professor Karen Hussey; Climateworks sustainable transport expert, Claire Painter; and ACT Minister for Climate Change, Shane Rattenbury.

The Cities Power Partnership currently has a membership of 70 Australian councils who have pledged to tackle climate change through renewable energy and other climate solutions, and the group is looking to recruit another 30 councils. Member councils

Councils in the Cities Power Partnership share information about climate action, and are also working together on projects, such as electric vehicle superhighways and large-scale renewable energy projects.
